A School Bus driver was charged with sexually abusing students and the School District was named in a multi-million dollar lawsuit filed on behalf of more than forty children. Clifford S. Trotter Associates, Inc. was retained by the Defense, and during a complex investigation amassed an overwhelming amount of exculpatory evidence. As a result of the exhaustive investigative efforts of our staff and the resulting comprehensive reports, the School District was found to be not liable.
- A jewelry dealer is victimized through a confidence scheme and more than $150,000.00 worth of rare gems were stolen by a woman using a false identity and an invalid address. The local Police Department and District Attorney were of no help. Clifford S. Trotter Associates, Inc. initiated an investigation that uncovered a pattern of crimes by the perpetrator spanning five years and involving scores of victims in six different states. The total value of the jewels stolen through fraud and deception was estimated to be in excess of four million dollars. As the result of a six month investigation, Clifford S. Trotter Associates, Inc. is able to present law enforcement officials with documentation that the suspect committed more than twenty felony and misdemeanor crimes in at least three states and violated three Federal statutes. The perpetrator is ultimately arrested by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and charged with her crimes by the United States Attorney.
- A 50 million dollar lawsuit is filed against a School District alleging that a teacher had a sexual relationship with a student that included more than forty liaisons over an extended period of time. The student accused the teacher of having sexual relations with her in a variety of locations including classrooms, vehicles and his school office. An extensive investigation by Clifford S. Trotter Associates, Inc., which culminated in a typewritten report consisting of almost five hundred pages contained in three volumes, proved the innocence of the teacher not only by a preponderance of the evidence, but beyond a reasonable doubt. When the plaintiff’s attorneys were presented with a portion of the evidence amassed, the legal action was withdrawn.
